Transport & Interconnect Network Engineer (Verizon)

About the Role:

We are seeking experienced Transport & Interconnect Network Engineers with strong expertise in CND Granite systems to support large-scale Verizon network projects. This role focuses on circuit engineering, provisioning, and lifecycle management across transport and interconnect networks, ensuring accurate design, activation, and optimization of telecom infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

▪ Engineer and provision transport and interconnect circuits across Verizon network infrastructure

▪ Utilize CND Granite for circuit design, inventory management, and service activation

▪ Perform circuit path analysis, grooming, and validation to maintain network integrity

▪ Coordinate with NOC, provisioning, and field teams for network builds, migrations, and issue resolution

▪ Maintain accurate circuit inventory, documentation, and records within Granite systems

▪ Support troubleshooting of transport failures and service impairments across backbone and interconnect networks

▪ Ensure compliance with Verizon engineering standards and telecom best practices

▪ Assist in capacity planning and network optimization initiatives

▪ Validate end-to-end circuit connectivity across fiber and transport layers

Requirements:

▪ Proven experience in transport and interconnect network engineering within telecom environments

▪ Strong hands-on expertise with CND Granite (circuit design, inventory management, and service activation)

▪ Solid understanding of circuit provisioning, design, and grooming across fiber and optical transport networks

▪ Working knowledge of SONET, DWDM, and Ethernet transport technologies

▪ Experience with network inventory management, documentation, and telecom standards (Verizon experience preferred)

▪ Strong coordination skills with NOC, provisioning, and field teams, with the ability to troubleshoot transport and interconnect issues

▪ Knowledge of telecom infrastructure planning and network optimization principles
