Senior Project Manager – Verizon Network Deployment

About the Role:

Techner is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager – Network Deployment to lead end-to-end Verizon deployment and modernization programs. This role requires a strong technical and delivery background across transport upgrades, hub/CRAN deployments, router modernization, and small-cell/RAN initiatives.

The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience with Verizon standards, tools, and workflows, and a proven ability to deliver complex, multi-site programs with first-pass acceptance and high-quality execution.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead end-to-end Verizon network deployment programs, including 1G→10G transport upgrades, hub/CRAN router deployments, small-cell/RAN rollouts, and dark fiber builds.
2. Own full project lifecycle from intake through planning, execution, acceptance, and close-out.
3. Coordinate cross-functional teams including engineering, field operations, integration, and vendors.
4. Provide technical oversight across transport networks, router configurations (Cisco/Nokia), and timing systems (GPS/GNSS).
5. Review and validate configurations, test results, and as-built documentation to ensure deployment readiness and compliance.
6. Manage risks, dependencies, and change activities, including mitigation and rollback planning during cutovers.
7. Lead readiness calls, cutover coordination, and stakeholder communications across multiple teams.
8. Ensure compliance with Verizon standards, processes, and acceptance criteria.
9. Track progress, risks, and milestones using Microsoft Project and internal delivery tools.
10. Prepare and submit complete close-out and acceptance packages with accurate reporting.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Network Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
2. 8+ years of experience in network deployment and/or technical project management.
3. Strong hands-on experience with Verizon deployment programs, including transport, hub/CRAN, and router modernization.
4. Solid understanding of backhaul/transport networks, LAG, QoS, adjacency validation, and timing systems.
5. Proven ability to manage complex, multi-site deployments with first-pass acceptance.
6. Experience with Verizon tools such as Fuze, SPM, IOP, and ENM.
7. Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and execution skills.
8. Experience with OneFiber, transport modernization, or network decommissioning projects.
9. Background in field operations, integration, RF coordination, or drive testing.
10. PMP certification or equivalent project management credential.
